1. People who have problems like "cell phone reception in Porta Vallarta is rough" - yeah I have no idea what it is like to have problems like that, stop rubbing it in.
2. I was in front of a person today who is the spitting image of Cruella de Vil.
3. I want to popularize a new expression "Shit Dogging" - this is when someone is jerking you around. Example "dude don't shit dog me".
4. If that speedier internet is really going to be called the Grid that sounds a little like hackneyed Big Brother wanna-be terminology. Also a minor Matrix feel - calling Telus and being put through to an "agent". Probably a nicer term than phone jockey.
5. Transformers - Tim Wu rightly pointed out that the animated series in the 80s (kick ass! at least from the ages of 6-10) was basically just a vehicle for Hasbro to sell action figures (also kick ass!). The funny parallel was the movie, released last year, was basically a glorified car commercial with logos prominently displayed.
6. How would the world be different if technological advances came in a different order - if computers and what we know as the internet was developed before circumnavigation?
