Isn't it Unethical to buy CDs?

Here's a simple idea. All of the material and energy which goes into producing physcial CDs - manufacturing the CD and the packaging, the transportation costs, the environmental costs of running the CD store - are unnecessary and therefore since this pollution can be avoided by downloading music it is unethcial to buy CDs. Keep in mind it is still possible to pay intermediaries when downloading, if someone is so inclined they can give money to Apple, or if they want to avoid intermediaries the music can be downloaded directly off P2P or youtube and if the fan feels so inclined they can donate directly to the band.
