Well, it seems to be working for Jesus

Generally I dug this story Don't fear the pirates except for this statement
it's definitely not right that someone should have their intellectual property stolen or used without their permission—especially so that someone else can profit off of it
1- copyright has infringement - not theft - look it up in the Copyright Act. Perhaps Ken Hunt has no legal training, but since he's writing an article entirely devoted to the subject in one of Canada's national papers he should make an effort to not incorrectly employ charged terminology.

2- in terms of 'use without permission' technology is pointing us towards a future where if someone doesn't want something out there they shouldn't publish it in the first place. That applies to everything from poems to Paris Hilton's tapes. Whether it's a curse or a blessing it is increasingly a reality.

3- if there is a continued inability to substantially enforce copyright the 'turning a profit on an unauthorized use' concern is turned on its head.
